Brr!

I’m in California, people, and it is cold. What kind of topsy-turvy world is this, that I wish I had packed wool sweaters for a trip to Southern California? San Francisco, sure, it’s always freezing there. But this, this is all wrong. Eden has the fireplace going, and I’m considering huddling next to it. And maybe coaxing Cookie to spread out over my lap. Her piping hot breath will keep my fingers from freezing.

(Okay, it’s probably 60 degrees. And why yes, I am a delicate flower.)

Because I put a catchy yet maddening theme song in your head yesterday, here’s the song that my brain is looping for the day. I think you will find it peppy and not Jameson Parker-ish.

It's cold in the tropics too. Sixty five degrees! Must. Wear. Fleece.

Whoa! A mariachi band. I was not expecting that! AAAAAAHHHHH!

Catchy tune, though. Great tambourine.

This song propelled me from the train and out into the workday on many a slow-moving Monday morning this summer. Just now, it inspired me to get lunch.

I think I want to make out with the white shirt/glasses guy. Yep. If he wanders into my house, I believe I'll make out with him.

It's actually warm and sunny up here in Seattle. There are people outside!

Be _glad_ it's not warm and windy. That's how it was the other week, when SoCal started burning down.

I recently went through a phase where I would listen to this song on repeat on my 30 minute commute to work. This one and "She moves in her own way" by the kooks.

That is Spoon, and the song is The Underdog. Go ahead and download the whole album.

I hadn't seen the video yet, but the song has been stuck in my head for over a week. They show you every musical element but the clapping! I must know how to do the clapping...

On an unrelated note, why do you not tell your readers that you are a finalist in the highly esteemed Best Parenting Blog category for the internationally known 2007 Weblog Awards?

I know, you're not the self-promoting type. So can I do this for you?

Thank you, thank you, for driving the theme song from SpongeBob out of my head. I owe you my sanity.

Gee, thanks. I will now carry this around with me all day, whichis OK except I only kinda sorts know the words and so that means I'll be sort of making things up and maybe remembering a word or two here and there and THAT WILL DRIVE ME FRIGGIN CRAZY.
