Because maybe we need more junk.
“The elements of blogging, as far as I'm concerned, are already junk. Our lives, our entire world, form a heap of trivia and disaster. To some degree we're stuck in the tragic position of Klee's "Angelus Novus", unable to reach back and mend the catastrophe of history. What we do have is memory and language, which, along with a high-speed connection, is all you need to reshape it, hold it up for your readers, plunge your hand in and rip out the joke.”
Just as I was questioning this ridiculous exercise, along comes the Palinode to clear things up. Why aren’t you reading him right now?
I have a small, manageable group of blogs I read every week. I don’t venture beyond my tiny corner of the Internet nearly enough. You probably need to branch out, too. (Yes, you do. Stop looking at me like that.) So if you’ve been reading any new and/or noteworthy blogs, post them here.

Really. I read Miss Doxie and The Palinode and Schmutzie and Susie Sunshine and Jen Lancaster and they all deserve their fans, even if I'm one of them, but you have to read Badger.
I read about 15 blogs daily. I'm adding more every once in a while.
Ages ago (it seems) I posted a (now-outdated) list on my blog (ooh ooh, go read it too!) with a VERY few of my "newer" links.

She's pretty freaking entertaining, if not a little crazed. But in an awesome way.
She doesn't update that often anymore, BUT her archives are good for weeks of reading-when-you-should-be-writing.
Also check out Buffy Holt at: http://www.buffyholt.com/blog/

"I just read a Christopher Hitchens quote where he said that the four most overrated things are champagne, lobster, anal sex, and picnics. Although I am not a huge fan of the Hitch, I liked that sentiment very much. I would like to organize a picnic where everyone eats lobster and drinks champagne and butt-fucks the other guests and yawns mightily with the utter dreariness of it all. More champagne, my dear? More backdoor action? Oh dahling I couldn't possibly. This whole scene is so last year."
She's phenomenal.
