Hair update: the end!

I have many, many Redbook posts to update you on, but you guys! Look! LOOK AT MY HAIR!

Less gray than I thought it would be

This is the entirely natural color. There is no more artificial color in there.

It's entirely too short right this moment--I don't think the shorty-short bangs do much for my narrow face (I' m not fishing for compliments, here)--but within a couple of weeks I'll feel significantly less exposed. I'm so used to super-short hair that I don't stress too much over that naked-head sensation.

This is my sophisticated expression/

I want to grow my hair down to about shoulder-length now that I don't have to worry about hiding tell-tale roots and the like, but I actually love the color. It feels like me. Which it is. I am me!

Charlie trying to get away from the terrifying CAMERA

Also I coordinate well with Charlie, now, and I think that's the most important thing, don't you?

don't fight it, Charlie

I didn't know you before, but I think your hair looks terrific. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to let mine be natural again (at least not for many years)...but yours looks so good that maybe I should try?

I think you look like (a much younger) Julie Andrews -- and I love her!

still. just. adorable.

I love it! I've been silver for a couple of years now. Went short to get rid of the color and am now trying to grow a bob into something just above my shoulders. It has been a journey, which I've chronicled in painful detail on my blog. It's fun to prove that gray doesn't have to be frumpy! You look fabulous.

You look great! Your skin tone/eye color look lovely with the new hue, and I think the short cut really suits you--

the color is seriously stunning!

Love! Your eyes are now even more sparkly blue.

You look like a hot, young Julie Andrews.

You look sensational.....It's icing on the cake!!!

December 30, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDeetz

Wow, it looks amazing! I'd keep the hair short, that looks amazing too. Always envied people that have good heads/faces/hair for short short hair.

You're a total silver fox. It looks awesome. Dayum!

You look gorgeous! I like the super short style too.

I love it, Alice!
It looks so pretty on you. I've been trying to persuade my husband who, at the ripe old age of 32, has quite a sprinkling of silver, that it's an awesome look. It isn't working...

(Also, thank you for the writings. I have been enjoying it for years, even though I think this is only the second time ever I've commented.)

I have seen the before pics of you and I thought you were adorable before your decision to go natural. But this, this is unbelievable. You look amazing. Congrats on the difficult transition, because they pay off is a whole lot of gorgeousness!!

Wow, that looks amazing, and I agree with the commenter who said it makes you look like Jamie Lee Curtis. Tres chic, and also lovely that you match Charlie (who is handsome as ever).

Okay, well, there -- it can be done. And, not fishing aside... I love it. I started the process of becoming unprocessed and then had to go get reprocessed with massive low lights (which are washing out) as my roots were so much darker than one (ie me) would have imagined. I've gone shorter. But not your short. My bravery factor is pretty low. For now, I'm trimming and waiting and trimming. Excellent of you to do it and update us and make me know it can be done. I am figuring Summer will be all me!

oh you look wonderful! and, of course, coordinating with charlie is the absolute bonus. ;)

January 9, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterAmigurumigirl

Wow. I was so excited you were going to go natural (I just stopped dying my hair recently too), but I had no idea it could look THIS good! Seriously, I love it!

January 10, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMolly

My dog and I have the same hair-color, too. Mostly. If you don't count her tan and white markings, we're both kind of a chesnut/auburn.

Yay! So happy to see another blogger that has given up the (hair color) bottle! I finally unleashed the real color back in October, chopping off the ends of the colored hair to show off the all real stuff, and I love it! So much easier to deal with, and I don't have to worry about what chemicals I'm putting on my head too.

You look fabulous!

absolutely excellent - jamie lee curtis except better. love it.

it looks fantastic - good job, you.

Your hair makes your eyes look sparkly. I was just in Palm Springs, visiting my inlaws in a gated 55+ comminity. I was the only woman there with grey hair, and I was the youngest woman there by at least 13 years. Trust me, we look good.

I love this and have toyed with the idea of going gray too. I'm guessing I'm 50% or so. But at 38, I've got a 3 year old and a 1 year old and my husband only has gray in his beard, so I am nervous about looking too old. I have myself pumped up to do it when I'm 50 and my oldest will be in high school, but sometimes I think what if I just did it now? I'm glad I came across your post.

I am hearing loads about marketing via twitter and facebook... because that's where real people hang out! So do you have any tips or guidelines on Social Media Marketing?
