Palm Springs in November? Don't mind if I do
November 8, 2011I'm giddy with excitement, but as I am me, I'm also a bundle (bindle? carry-on?) of nervous energy. I have a to-do list that I'm frantically checking off, I keep re-checking to make sure I have enough snacks and anti-anxiety meds for the plane (don't judge me, Normals!), I'm pretty sure I'll forget something vital, like my underwear or my paper-thin veneer of sanity, and also (because I am me) I pause every so often to bathe myself in guilt that I'm leaving my family behind. For four days. How will they survive?
Oh, I do want to be better at traveling, and I'm getting there, but every time I leave home I get anxious and teary. I can't help it. I love home.
I love the people who are at my home. (I got a new iPhone, by the way. I am enjoying the photo apps. In case you can't tell.)
And the pets. It's hard for me to be away from these guys, too.

On the other hand, I also like dreaming of home, which is best to do when you're off on adventures.
You don't have to tell me how lucky I am, because I know.

Oh, Alice. I have one of those beautiful brown eyed boys, too. They're hard to leave, but they making coming home very worth it.

I travel a lot and the hardest thing is always leaving my pets! Last time I was away it was for three weeks, and my neighbour was feeding my cat and the dog was with my parents, but when I came home - the cat SHOUTED at me for 3 days! And stayed glued to my head while I slept.
Don't think I can go away that long again unless I have someone house-sitting, I felt SO GUILTY when I came home!
It's been awhile since I've seen a picture of Henry. He is getting so big. Love the shot walking down the sidewalk. Would SOO love to live in New York. Enjoy Palm Springs!!

So, not be boring and a copy-cat, but Henry is just beautiful. I can understand your not wanting to leave for 4 days, but, think of how happy you will be to return. And so what if they dye the dog blue?!

I think it is pretty much unanimous; that is one gorgeous kid you have there.
Whenever I go away I'm scandalised to find that that my boys can cope, without me. And then I tidy. And tidy some more. Enjoy your trip!
Alice Nerve Bundles :) That would make Nerve your middle name, which might give people the wrong idea. It could also be Alice Bundles of Nerves, which makes it sound like you are from the Nerves region of southern France. That probably works better.
I like that Henry and the pets all have big anime eyes.
I hope you manage to calm your anxieties (put on your Mighty Cape; that should help) enough to enjoy the awesome that is Palm Springs and its old skool desert vibe.

Good land is that boy cute. I have girls. I need one of those little boys. Like I need a hole in the head. But seriously--those eyes. Surely he's perfect. And never whines.

My cousin owns a home in Palm Springs. Last year we visited her in December and it was amazing. I didn't wanna go home. And I can understand where you are coming from about your pets, as I have 4 cats of my own at home. They are part of the family.
